KEUM JUNG SPORTS PARK AND STADIUM

Awarded by the Pusan Metropolitan Government through a national competition, the Keum Jung Sports Park and Stadium was one of three major sport venues built for the 2002 Asian Games. It contains a 45,000 square meter park, a 8,000 seat 333 meter velodrome, a 4,000 seat enclosed gymnasium, and a 4,000 seat championship tennis pavilion. Currently, the site serves as an athletic facility, community center and park for the surrounding Keum Jung area. In particular, the gymnasium functions as a sports venue and multi-purpose performance hall. The velodrome hosts amateur cycling and professional racing events. The site also accommodates parking for 2,000 cars and 50 buses.
