bennington college DORMITORIES
Bennington, vermont
Sited at the center of the campus in an open meadow, the three buildings house 35 students and two faculty apartments each. Their radial configuration is organized towards the center of campus and provides an informal space that connects the buildings to the larger campus while offering filtered views to the rural landscape. To enhance community campus life ample social spaces are provided: common rooms, separate living rooms, and study alcoves. Facades oriented towards the campus are sheathed in stained horizontal shiplap red cedar siding, and facades oriented toward the meadow are clad in clear finished vertical red cedar siding.
