The new facility for The Heller School for Social Policy and Management includes the 30,000 sf Schneider building, and the renovation of the school’s existing Heller Brown building. The project is sited along the natural topography overlooking a wooded wetland. It re-energizes this natural landscape by opening up views and providing a new campus edge. The Schneider building includes new classroom, lecture, and breakout spaces, lounges and study areas, faculty and administrative offices, and an open multi-story public “forum” space that links to the original building. The “forum” allows the entire school to gather in a single space, and serves as a flexible space for student and faculty interaction, guest speaker and “town meeting” style events. In a second phase, the original building was entirely renovated with state of the art building systems and a new library and media center.
